A very warm welcome awaits you at The Lake District School of Food & Wine located in the beautiful Eden Valley where away from the hustle and bustle of life surrounded by unspoilt countryside and spectacular views lies the Lake District School of Food and Wine, run by Chef Lecturer Pat Russell.

As a Chef Lecturer Pat has taught cookery at all levels in Catering Colleges throughout Cumbria and The Lake District.
In addition to her career as a teaching chef she also undertook cookery demonstrations around the Country for a Large Holiday Company.

Eventually her enthusiasm and passion for food led to the demand from friends and past students for Pat Russell to start her own Cookery School on a part time basis in 1994.

As the demand for more courses grew Pat left her teaching post in 2004 to focus her energies into running  The Lake District School of Food and Wine on a full time basis.

Her links with the catering industry still remain. Students come to the school on a regular basis to study  and develop their skills in working with chocolate, Advanced Patisserie and Bread Making, in addition to the other more general skills which the school now encompasses; Pat also manages to find time to go out and assess students work.

Pat can often be found at Agricultural shows throughout Cumbria participating as a Judge on cookery matters, and she is listed as a demonstrator for the Vegetarian Society.

Pat was the course tutor for the Guest House Management Course, and holds a Supervisory Management Certificate in Hospitality and Catering.

Pat Russell won a Bob McGhie Award to travel to Switzerland to further her work in Advanced Patisserie, this involved working in one of the Leading Hotels of the World where she gained much valuable knowledge. Whilst there she also worked in a Bakery and Confissurie where her studies enabled her to develop expertise and gained her the Diploma in the Art of Blown Sugar.
